Over sixty women converged at ComUnity Spaces in East Legon on Saturday, March 14, 2026 for the maiden edition of the BloomHer Brunch and Workshop, an event focused on equipping women with practical skills and knowledge to build financially secure futures.

The initiative, curated by Bloom Iris Agency, brought together entrepreneurs, creatives and aspiring business owners for a full-day programme centred on skills development, business insights and networking opportunities for women.

The programme opened with welcome remarks hosted by Tabitha Asangsia alongside BloomHer Founder, Dede Gedza, who set the tone for the event and highlighted the vision behind the initiative.

Participants engaged in hands-on training sessions in crochet, bead and jewellery making and nail art, designed to demonstrate how creative talents can be transformed into income-generating ventures.

The Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Simone Giger, delivered a power address on women’s economic empowerment and the need to create opportunities that support financial stability and sustainable growth for women.

She explained that, “as women, at the start of our career, we should be intentional about choosing sectors with real potential —particularly those that are often overlooked, such as textiles and agribusiness—because I believe women’s economic empowerment lies in exploring and thriving in these spaces.”

A panel discussion titled “From Skills to Income: The Business Side of Your Talent” brought together industry practitioners including Juliana Amoateng, Bibiana Gyasi (ChefLifestyle), Jennifer Kupler, Florence Narh (Chef Mamle) and Tyson Sariyu Dornukie. The conversation was moderated by Diana Edinam Kumbey and focused on practical strategies for monetising creative skills and building sustainable businesses.

The event also featured a meditation session facilitated by Dr. Akosua Nhyiraba of Mindful Moments Ghana, aimed at encouraging mindfulness and personal well-being among participants.

A personal branding session facilitated by Jaja Victoria provided participants with insights on how to position themselves and their businesses effectively in competitive markets.

The programme further created opportunities for networking and collaboration among participants, accompanied by a buffet experience and a live musical performance by S3nti.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Bloom Iris Agency, Doris Dede Gedza emphasised that the BloomHer initiative seeks to provide women with the tools, knowledge and networks necessary to achieve financial independence.

“Women can run businesses just as effectively as they run homes—and when they are financially independent, they gain the power to make decisions freely and confidently”, she said.

Organisers say the BloomHer platform is expected to grow into a continuing initiative that supports women through skills training, mentorship and partnerships aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and long‑term economic empowerment.
