The final batch of 51 continuing tertiary students from Takoradi Technical University has received financial support under the Obaatanpa Scholarship Initiative, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 250.

These students, hailing from Essikado-Ketan Constituency, were presented with cheques by Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and Deputy Minister for Health.

The recipients are pursuing various programmes at several public universities across Ghana, including the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), University for Development Studies (UDS), University of Cape Coast (UCC), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), University of Ghana (UG), Ghana Communications Technology University, and Takoradi Technical University.

The scholarship package is designed to assist the students in covering school fees and other essential academic expenses, easing the financial burden on beneficiaries and their families.

During the presentation ceremony, Dr. Prof. Ayensu-Danquah urged the students to approach their studies with seriousness and dedication. She expressed hope that, upon completion of their education, they would return to contribute their acquired knowledge and skills toward the development of Essikado-Ketan Constituency.

“This initiative underscores my unwavering commitment to human capital development in our constituency. It also aligns closely with President John Dramani Mahama’s broader vision for expanding access to quality education and empowering the youth of Ghana,” the MP stated.

The Obaatanpa Scholarship Initiative, spearheaded by Dr. Prof. Ayensu-Danquah, forms part of her ongoing efforts to promote educational excellence and support brilliant but needy students from the area in achieving their academic dreams.
