According to a member of the National Democratic Congress and concurrently member of Presidential Aspirant Dr. Kwabena Duffour’s team, Kofi Kukubor has claimed that, given the Delegates list and Photo Album were clean, Dr. Kwabena Duffour would have won the flag bearer’s position 60% over other aspirants.

Following the withdrawal of Presidential Aspirant Dr. Kwabena Duffour from the National Democratic Congress’ primaries scheduled for today, a member of his campaign team has alledged  the aspirant would have polled 60% and also emphasized that, the poor legal route used by the Party in conducting the internal elections, will affect the public’s intention of the party.

In a late evening interview yesterday, Kofi Kukubor lamented the process used by the National Executives to resolve the issues raised and he expressed his disappointment for the decision made despite the meeting held to rectify the irregularities.

According to him, they had conducted a research which revealed Dr. Kwabena Duffour was poised to win by a 60% margin especially in the Ashanti, Greater Accra and Eastern Region which are undisputed stronghold of his candidate.

He further mentioned that the grassroot are hungry for a change but the Constituency, Regional and National executives were frustrating Dr. Kwabena Duffour’s process.

“The largest population of the voters on our register are the people at the branches. The people at the branches constitute over 300, 000 voter population. Those who were frustrating Dr. Kwabena Duffour’s process are the Constituency, Regional and National Executives but the people at the grassroot feel the heat. They are listening to the other voices” he stated.

He assured Dr. Kwabena Duffour’s withdrawal will not affect his son Dr. Kwabena Duffour Jr. In his quest to represent the National Democratic Congress in the 2024 general election in the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency in Ashanti Region.
