GACL issues warning on unauthorized cultural displays at airports

The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has cautioned the public against setting up cultural displays at Ghana’s airports without prior authorization.

The company stated that cultural exhibitions such as drumming, dancing, singing, and chanting will no longer be permitted on airport premises unless approved by management.

Families and individuals who wish to welcome guests with traditional performances must first seek approval from the Commercial Services Department of GACL. Without authorization, performers will not be allowed to carry out any displays on the airport premises.

GACL noted that the increasing number of informal cultural displays at the terminals disrupts airport operations and passenger movement.

While GACL did not specify penalties for violations, it emphasized that airport activities are strictly regulated and must be conducted in an orderly manner to ensure smooth operations.

The company appealed to the public to cooperate with airport rules to help maintain discipline and efficiency at Kotoka International Airport.
