Haruna Iddrisu, Deputy Communications Minister stable after convoy accident on Bolga-Tumu Road – Education Ministry

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Education, and Mohammed Adams Sukparu, Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, are in stable condition following a road traffic accident involving their convoy on the Bolgatanga-Tumu Road.

According to an official press release issued today, Thursday, February 12, 2026, the incident took place while the ministers and their teams were travelling to the Upper West Region to attend official engagements.

The two were en route to commemorate the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education when the accident occurred.

“The Office of the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, wishes to inform the public that Haruna Iddrisu and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are in stable condition following a road traffic accident involving their convoy on the Bolgatanga–Tumu Road today,” the statement from the Office of the Minister for Education reads in part.

The statement added that all members of the convoy are currently in stable condition and are receiving the necessary medical attention.

The Ministry thanked emergency responders, health professionals, and members of the public for their swift assistance and concern, and indicated that further updates would be provided as necessary.

The release was signed by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Minister for Education.
