The government of Ghana has announced that the investigative report into the tragic August 6, 2025, helicopter crash will be presented to the National Security Council tomorrow, Monday, November 10, with full details set to be made public during a media briefing on Tuesday.

The announcement was made by the Minister for Information and Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, in a social media post on Sunday, outlining key activities for the week.

”Tomorrow, the report of the August 6 Helicopter tragedy investigation will be presented to the National Security Council.

“On Tuesday, the details of the report will be made public at a media briefing” he wrote.

The crash, which occurred in the Ashanti Region, claimed the lives of eight individuals, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Alhaji Dr. Murtala Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, NDC Vice Chairman and former Central Regional Minister Samuel Sarpong, NADMO Deputy Director-General Samuel Aboagye, Ghana Air Force pilot Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

The military Harbin Z-9 helicopter was en route from Accra to Obuasi for an event on combating illegal mining when it crashed into a forested mountainside, resulting in a post-crash fire that left the victims burnt beyond recognition.

Efforts by the Ghana Armed Forces and the National Fire Service recovered the flight recorder the following day, with DNA analysis conducted in South Africa to aid identification.

The incident marked one of Ghana’s worst aviation disasters in over a decade.

According to the minister, the week’s agenda continues with President John Dramani Mahama launching the “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” programme in Kumasi on Wednesday, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and rural development.

On Thursday, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson will present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament, featuring expansive initiatives on economic recovery, infrastructure, and social welfare.
