Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, is mourning the sudden death of his father, describing the loss as both heartbreaking and deeply personal amid his ongoing legal troubles with the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
In an emotional post on social media on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Mr Ofosu Nkansah announced the passing of his father and appeared to express frustration and grief over a denied request to spend more time with him during his illness.
“Those with power now who refused my request to spend more time in Kumasi to observe my seriously sick old boy too I thank you. I guess you are happy now,” he wrote.
In an earlier message, he had shared the news of his father’s death, highlighting the shocking suddenness of the loss.
“My Dad has never fallen sick aside going to hospital every quarter for his routine check-ups and within a week he is gone just like that. Hmmmm. Agyapa, da yie,” he stated. The Akan phrase “Agyapa, da yie” translates to “Father, rest well.”
Mr Ofosu Nkansah was recently arrested by the National Intelligence Bureau and granted bail in the sum of GH¢500,000 over allegations of publishing false news. The charges stem from comments he made on radio concerning alleged irregularities in the award of government-funded scholarships.
The NIB continues its investigations into the matter.
