The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed its members across the country to participate in the nationwide General Cleaning Exercise scheduled for Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026.
In a statement issued on Thursday, July 9, 2026, the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said the directive forms part of the NPP’s commitment to promoting environmental sanitation, civic responsibility and national development.
The party, however, acknowledged that its Constituency Elections are also scheduled for Saturday, July 11, and encouraged members to join the sanitation exercise immediately after casting their ballots.
According to the statement, voting for the constituency elections will be conducted on a walk-in basis, allowing members to exercise their right to vote before participating in the clean-up exercise.
The NPP said the initiative reflects the party’s support for efforts aimed at improving sanitation and encouraging citizens to take active roles in maintaining clean communities.
