New Patriotic Party (NPP) Council of Patrons member and Mampong parliamentary candidate hopeful Beatrice Owarewa Siaw, popularly known as Nana Yaa, has reportedly died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

According to a report by Asaase Radio, Siaw died after reportedly driving herself to the hospital after complaining of body weakness.

A source close to her told Asaase Radio that concern grew after Siaw became unreachable while preparing to travel to China.

The source subsequently contacted Siaw’s uncle, who also said he had been unable to reach her.

It was later learnt that Siaw had driven herself to KATH, where she was reportedly asked about the purpose of her visit and complained of feeling weak. She was subsequently pronounced dead, according to the report.

Her vehicle has since reportedly been conveyed to a police station as family members await further information and make arrangements following her death.

Siaw was a member of the NPP Council of Patrons and was seeking to contest the Mampong parliamentary seat on the party’s ticket.
