Popular Forex trader, Kojo Forex has filed a defamation suit against Bongo Ideas seeking damages of GHs 1 million.

The Forex trader, Bright Kojo Onipayede has sued a known social media critique Albert Nathaniel Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas after the latter attacked Kojo Forex on social media with defamatory statements.

In a lawsuit dated 17th May, 2023, allegations made by the accused, Bongo Ideas, were duly outlined and deemed to have had the malicious intent of defaming the Forex Trader.

The defamatory statements were deemed to mean the forex trader: was involved in Fraudulent activities that sponsored his affluence, was operating a Ponzi scheme through his forex academy, gave ingenue training as he isn’t much informed on the concept of forex trading, and was involved in other illegal businesses

Inferring from the suit, Bongo ideas was served with a letter from Kojo Forex’s lawyers on 21 April for him to desist from the defamatory posts and apologize for his errors

However, Bongo Ideas repudiated the letter and hosted a Twitter space with 700 Twitter listeners to further defame Kojo forex.

The defamatory statements made by the Defendant had an injurious effect on the Forex Trader’s undertaking as his counsel stated his client’s reputation has seriously been injured and has suffered considerable loss, distress, and embarrassment which has had a toll on enrollment in his Forex Academy which has fallen drastically in two months.

In a Twitter post, the plaintiff said “Lawsuit is not a one day/one-week affair. It took time but definitely needed to serve appropriately.
