The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two women in connection with the alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl at the La Roman JHS School area, following a viral video of the incident and a complaint from the victim’s mother.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, stemming from an earlier altercation between the 12-year-old victim and a seven-year-old boy related to the suspects.

According to police investigations, the suspects allegedly went to the victim’s home, took her to their residence, and assaulted her, leaving visible marks on her body.

The victim’s mother reported the matter to the police, accompanied by her daughter, prompting immediate action. Officers took a statement and issued a medical report form for the girl’s examination and treatment.

On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, the complainant assisted police in arresting two suspects: Precious Giftan Mesopeh, 22, and Princess Giftan Mesopeh, 25.

Both are currently in custody, assisting with investigations, and have been formally charged. They are expected to appear in court on Monday, January 5, 2026.

A third suspect, Priscilla Novishie Wornyo, 49, a fashion designer and mother of the arrested women, is on the run after reportedly travelling to the Volta Region. Police efforts to locate and apprehend her are ongoing.

The Accra Regional Police Command cautioned the public against resorting to violence, particularly in disputes involving children, urging parents and guardians to seek lawful means to resolve grievances.

“The Command further urged the public to respect the law and protect the rights and welfare of children at all times,” the police statement read.
