Two employees of Asomdwie Rubber Company, a Chinese-owned plastic and rubber processing firm at Atonsu Agogo in the Ashanti Region, have been found dead inside a parked private car on the company’s premises.

The deceased have been identified as a senior male staff member popularly known as Baba and a female colleague who had worked with the company for less than two months. The woman’s full name is yet to be confirmed by the police.

According to reports, both workers had attended the wedding of one of their managers on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

The female employee later reported for night shift duty that same Saturday but complained of feeling unwell and was advised to go home. Around 8 p.m., Baba’s car, a saloon with heavily tinted glasses, was seen driving onto the company premises and parked. The engine was initially running but later went off.

The vehicle remained in the same spot throughout Sunday. On Monday morning, November 24, workers and nearby residents detected a foul odour emanating from the car. Police from the Atonsu Division were alerted, broke the windows, and discovered the two bodies on the back seat.

Eyewitnesses said the woman’s head was resting on Baba’s chest. Baba was wearing only a singlet and shorts, while the car doors were locked from the inside with all windows rolled up.

Baba reportedly got married in early August 2025 and his wife is heavily pregnant. The female employee was said to be preparing for her own wedding scheduled for December 2025.

Police have conveyed the bodies to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The Atonsu Police have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the deaths, which remain unclear. No marks of violence were immediately visible on the bodies.
