Your rights start and end with another person’s rights” – Joyce Bawah Mogtari to Digital Creators

Presidential Special Aide Joyce Bawah Mogtari has reminded Ghanaian digital creators that freedom of expression in the digital space comes with responsibilities and must not infringe on the rights of others.
Addressing participants at the maiden Digital Media Creators Networking and Capacity Building Conference organised by The1957News, Joyce Bawah Mogtari underscored the need for balance between innovation and respect for privacy and reputation.
“Your rights start and end with another person’s rights. You must also remember that your freedoms pretty much have limits on them, especially when those freedoms infringe on another person’s rights,” she stated.
She encouraged creators to focus on producing responsible, impactful content that addresses societal issues rather than sensational or intrusive material.
The Guest of Honour also commended the organiser, Nene Odompleh of The1957News, describing him as a passionate and resilient digital media entrepreneur.
The event served as a platform for networking, capacity building, and discussions on elevating standards in Ghana’s digital content creation ecosystem.
