Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa or Mama Pat, has rendered an unqualified apology and full retraction to gospel musician Empress Gifty Adorye over defamatory statements she made against the former in May 2025.
In a statement dated Thursday, December 5, 2025, and signed by her lawyer Richard Asare Baffour of Agyaa Asamani Law Consult, Evangelist Asiedua admitted that several social media posts she published in reaction to comments made by Empress Gifty’s husband, Hopeson Adorye, were false and had wrongly imputed immorality and unchastity to the musician.
“It is now stated unequivocally that the allegations made by our client as contained in the impugned publications were false and completely without merit. Consequently, our client retracts every statement made therein,” the statement read.
The former fetish priestess further offered a sincere apology to Empress Gifty for the harm caused to her personal and professional reputation.
“Our client also offers an unqualified and sincere apology to Empress Gifty Adorye Oppong for the harm these false statements have caused to her personal and professional reputation, character, and well-being. This apology is also extended to her family, friends, and colleagues for the pain and distress they have endured,” it continued.
Agradaa who is currently serving a 15 year jail term for defrauding by false pretenses and charlatanic advertisement, was sued by Empress Gifty for defamation in May this year.
The gospel musician had asked a court for damages of GH¢20,000,000 against Nana Agradaa.
