Popular Ghanaian actress and television presenter Nana Ama McBrown has confirmed that she has divorced her husband of 12 years, Maxwell Mensah.
The multi-talented entertainer made the announcement during an appearance on TV3’s New Day programme on Wednesday , December 17, 2025, describing the separation as mutual and amicable.
“I’m the most happiest right now. I have gone through divorce. Yes, I am divorced. I am, and I am not ashamed to say but I did so beautifully. Me and my husband are cool. We spoke yesterday, we speak today, we speak tomorrow, we meet, I go to our house [to see] my in-laws and everything,” she said.
McBrown emphasised that the couple remain on good terms and are now “the best of friends,” stressing that their divorce was not bitter.
“We didn’t go through it like the bitter ones. I was tired, he was tired. We sat down, we said let’s talk about it. Let’s move on,” she explained.
She described Maxwell Mensah as a “correct guy” whom she still respects, but admitted that she had grown tired of the marriage despite efforts from her ex-husband and his family to keep it intact.
She revealed that the marriage, contracted under customary law, required only family involvement for the separation.
McBrown expressed profound gratitude for their daughter, Maxine, whom she described as the greatest gift from the union and the source of her deepest joy.
Looking ahead, the actress firmly stated that she has no intention of remarrying.
“I will not marry again. I can give birth again but I won’t marry again,” she declared.
She also urged appreciation for celebrities who sustain long marriages, noting: “I have married for 12 years. When you see celebrities that have married for 12 years, applaud them.”
The confirmation ends months of widespread rumours about troubles in the couple’s marriage, with some reports alleging that Maxwell Mensah’s alleged extramarital affairs contributed to the breakdown.
Nana Ama McBrown and Maxwell Mensah tied the knot 12 years ago and share one daughter, Maxine.
