The Ghana Police Service has arrested three additional suspects in connection with the high-profile daylight robbery at a gold dealership in Adabraka, Accra, which involved the theft of cash and valuables estimated at GH¢7.5 million.
The latest arrests, carried out by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Operations Unit (SOA) on Monday, January 19, 2026, in the Ashaiman District, followed months of sustained surveillance and intelligence-led operations.
The suspects have been identified as Nashiru Abubakar, also known as “Soldier”; Fatao Mohammed, popularly called “Motorway”; and a third suspect known as “50 Cent.
These arrests bring the total number of individuals apprehended in connection with the robbery to seven, following the earlier capture of four other key suspects in separate operations.
The robbery occurred on Saturday, November 2, 2024, when a group of armed men stormed the Adabraka gold jewellery shop and made away with proceeds from a gold transaction, valued at GH¢7.5 million, while the money was being conveyed to a bank.
Police sources indicate that the operation to apprehend the latest suspects was the result of meticulous intelligence gathering, continuous monitoring, and targeted tactical action aimed at dismantling the criminal network behind the violent heist.
Investigations are ongoing to trace and apprehend other accomplices believed to be linked to the crime, while efforts continue to recover additional exhibits connected to the robbery.
The suspects remain in police custody and are expected to be processed and arraigned before court in accordance with the law.
