Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, a former parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Klottey Korle constituency, has been arrested and charged in the United States for allegedly stabbing his wife during a domestic incident.
The 41-year-old, who resides in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody by the Lower Paxton Township Police following the incident which occurred around 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township.
According to a report by abc27.com, the stabbing stemmed from a domestic dispute. The victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital by first responders and is currently in stable condition.
Police have assured the public that there was no broader threat arising from the incident.
Nortey faces serious charges, including attempted homicide, possession of an instrument of crime with intent to use, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
Court records indicate that he was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Judy, who denied bail. He is being held at Dauphin County Prison pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 26, 2026.
