The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has issued a Constitutional Instrument to commence the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic, signaling the end of the current recess.
In line with Article 112(1) of the 1992 Constitution, the Speaker has set Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 12:00 noon as the date and time for the session to begin at Parliament House in Accra.
The official instrument, dated January 19, 2026, and signed by Mr. Bagbin, calls on all Members of Parliament (MPs) to reconvene at the specified time to resume legislative activities.
This resumption marks a pivotal moment in the parliamentary calendar, where key government business, including the deliberation of bills, approvals, and executive oversight, will take center stage.
The session is anticipated to tackle outstanding legislative agendas and unresolved issues from the prior sitting.
