The Ministry of Health has secured financial clearance and will commence a nationwide recruitment drive for qualified health professionals effective Thursday, April 16, 2026.
In a press release issued on Thursday, April 2, 2026, the Ministry stated that the recruitment exercise will be decentralised and conducted at the district level, based on verified vacancies in various health facilities across the country.
“The process will be competitive, transparent, and guided by an approved quota system across all cadres and year groups,” the statement said. It emphasized that all recruitments will be undertaken strictly within approved budgetary limits.
According to the ministry, the financial clearance is valid until December 31, 2026, and all recruitment activities must be completed within this period.
Qualified health professionals have been advised to closely monitor official channels of the Ministry of Health and the respective District Health Administrations for vacancy announcements and detailed application guidelines.
Applicants are also encouraged to prepare all required documentation and credentials in advance to facilitate a smooth application process when the exercise begins.
The Ministry urged all eligible health professionals to take advantage of the opportunity to join the public health sector and contribute meaningfully to strengthening healthcare delivery nationwide, particularly in underserved areas.
The statement was signed by Tony Goodman, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health.
