The Southern Sector Sales Lead of Promasidor Ghana Limited, Patrick Osei Oware, popularly known as “Pomo,” has died in a tragic road accident on the Koforidua–Tafo Highway in the Eastern Region.
The incident occurred at Suhyen on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
According to an on-scene report by The1957News, eyewitnesses indicated that Mr Oware was driving towards Koforidua at high speed when a Hyundai H100, attempting to overtake a motorcycle, veered into his lane. In an effort to avoid a head-on collision, his vehicle (a white Kia sedan) swerved off the road and crashed into a tree, killing him instantly at the scene.
Promasidor Ghana Limited confirmed the sad news in a statement issued on Sunday, May 3. The company said it received the news “with profound shock and sorrow,” describing the late executive as a dedicated and highly respected professional whose contribution to the organisation would be greatly missed.
“His passing represents a significant loss not only to Promasidor but also to Ghana’s marketing and corporate community,” the statement added.
Mr Oware had oversight responsibility for sales and marketing operations across several key regions, including Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, and Volta. He was widely admired for his leadership, energy, and extensive industry experience.
The company has appealed to the public to refrain from circulating graphic images and videos of the accident scene out of respect for his family and loved ones.
