Speaker Bagbin directs Parliament to reconvene on Thursday, May 21

Parliament is set to resume sitting on Thursday, May 21, 2026, marking the commencement of the Second Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

The announcement was made by the Office of the Speaker and signed by Speaker Alban Bagbin on Monday, May 4, 2026. According to the notice, the House will reconvene at 10:00 a.m. at Parliament House in Accra.

The directive was issued in accordance with Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament.

Speaker Bagbin noted that the notice serves as official communication to all Members of Parliament and relevant stakeholders ahead of the resumption.

The upcoming meeting is expected to allow the House to deliberate on key national legislation and other pressing matters of public interest.
