Three people have been confirmed dead and 20 others injured following a serious road crash involving two vehicles on the Kumasi–Accra Highway.
The accident occurred near the Rider Iron and Steel Company at Odumasi-Ohene Nkwanta on the busy highway. It involved a Mitsubishi Outlander with registration number DV G8180, driven by Richmond Kuman, and a Benz Sprinter with registration number GE 6024-22, driven by a yet-to-be-identified person.
Emergency responders retrieved the bodies of three deceased males from the scene and handed them over to the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) at Konongo.
The 20 injured persons were rushed to three different hospitals for treatment — Hope Care Hospital, Asante Akim Central Municipal Hospital, and RIS Hospital.
Police have commenced investigations into the cause of the crash, which is believed to have happened earlier today.
