The Bekwai Circuit Court has sentenced two men to prison terms for their involvement in a 2024 armed robbery at the Brent Energy Filling Station at New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region.

The convicts, Kwadwo Baffour, 38, a driver, and Kwame Affisah, also known as Abedinago, 36, were found guilty on June 15, 2026, on two counts of robbery, contrary to Section 149 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

According to police prosecutors, the incident occurred on August 17, 2024, at about 1:30 a.m., when the accused persons, armed with pump-action guns, attacked fuel attendants at the station and stole GH₵2,500 in cash, as well as personal belongings valued at about GH₵200,000.

Delivering judgment, His Honour Isaac Appiatu sentenced Kwadwo Baffour to 20 years’ imprisonment on each count.

Kwame Affisah, who is already serving a seven-year jail term at Kumasi Central Prison for a separate offence, was handed 30 years on each count.

The court ordered that the sentences run concurrently. Both convicts are currently serving their sentences at the Kumasi Central Prison.
