PrepMaster launches offline-first platform for exams and visa preparation in Ghana

PrepMaster, a new digital platform developed by CashPlanet Ltd, has officially launched in Ghana to provide practice tools for major examinations and visa interviews.

The platform, accessible at prepmaster.com.gh, targets students preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), as well as candidates for professional licensing exams such as nursing and midwifery. It also offers preparation resources for individuals facing visa interviews for travel, study, work, or family reunification abroad.

According to the company, PrepMaster emphasises daily practice, timed mock examinations aligned with official syllabuses, and progress tracking. A key feature is its offline-first design, allowing users to continue practising without an internet connection after initial setup. The platform can be accessed on basic smartphones and integrates with WhatsApp for discovery, reminders, and support. Payments are facilitated via Mobile Money.

For school candidates, the platform includes a guardian-pays option, enabling parents or sponsors to complete payments through WhatsApp. Professionals and visa applicants can subscribe directly. The service is positioned as a lower-cost alternative to private tutoring.

PrepMaster states that it provides realistic mock visa interviews, English proficiency practice where applicable, and guidance on application processes. The company emphasises that it operates strictly as a preparation tool and does not act as an immigration agent, lodge applications, claim influence over outcomes, or assist with misrepresentation. It makes no guarantees of exam success or visa approval.

In a statement, Ebenezer Baah, Head of the Digital Education Unit at CashPlanet Ltd, said: “In Ghana, too many doors come down to a single high-stakes moment — an exam, or an interview at an embassy — and too often the difference between getting through and falling short is whether you could afford good preparation or find someone honest to guide you.”

He added that the platform was built to support preparation for both academic and professional examinations as well as visa processes, while operating within Ghana’s data protection requirements.

The launch comes amid ongoing challenges in national examinations, with WAEC data from previous years showing varying pass rates, particularly in core subjects like Mathematics. Many Ghanaians also navigate complex visa application processes annually.

PrepMaster is available immediately via its website and WhatsApp channels, with social media handles @prepmaster_gh.
