Popular Ghanaian businessman and entrepreneur Kennedy Agyapong, popularly known as Kenpong, is receiving treatment at the Nyaho Clinic in Accra after sustaining serious injuries in a domestic accident at his residence.
Reports citing family sources says the businessman recently returned to Ghana from Canada and the United States before the incident occurred.
The sources said Kenpong reportedly slipped on a wet bathroom floor while attempting to retrieve an item from a high shelf, causing him to fall heavily.
The fall is said to have resulted in multiple fractures as well as a significant head injury.
He was rushed to the Nyaho Clinic, where he remains on admission. Family sources indicate that he is in a stable but serious condition and is receiving close medical attention.
Pictures purportedly showing the extent of the injuries suffered by the businessman show a deep cut on his chin.
Kenpong is widely recognised in Ghana’s business community for his investments across several sectors, including trading, construction, football and logistics. His business interests have created employment opportunities and contributed to economic activity in the country.
The businessman was also known for his close friendship with legendary Ghanaian highlife musician Daddy Lumba. The pair maintained a longstanding relationship dating back to their youth, with the late musician publicly describing Kenpong as one of his closest friends on several occasions.
The family has appealed for privacy as medical professionals continue to monitor his condition, adding that further updates on his health are expected in the coming days.
