Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has disclosed that the 2027 Budget is expected to be presented to Parliament in the first week of November 2026.
Speaking in an interview on Ahenfia FM in Kumasi, he stated that the government has put in place measures and preparations for the next Budget and its new economic programme.
According to the Minister, the 2027 Budget will set out plans for major infrastructure projects and policy initiatives aimed at creating more jobs.
He added that government will introduce new incentives to support businesses and enable them to expand into new sectors.
The initiatives form part of government’s broader strategy to move the economy into its next phase of growth.
He said the government spent the first two years of its administration stabilising the economy and is now moving to implement measures that will drive stronger economic growth.
Dr Ato Forson also said the 2027 Budget will outline the new programmes and policies the government plans to introduce.
However, the Finance Minister has already started engagements with key ministries, departments and agencies as preparations increase for the 2027 Budget hearings and the rollout of the government’s new economic programme.
The consultations are expected to help the government identify priority sectors and investment opportunities to support the next phase of economic growth.
The Minister further stressed that the planned November Budget is in line with Ghana’s public financial management framework, which requires the Finance Minister to present the budget for the following year to Parliament no later than November 15.
The timeline gives Parliament sufficient time to consider and approve the necessary expenditure before the start of the new financial year on January 1.
This ensures that government has the required legal authority to undertake expenditure from the beginning of 2027.
The Finance Minister also linked the planned initiatives to government’s new economic programme, under which it intends to invest about US$10 billion to stimulate economic activity.
