The Ministry of Education has announced plans to establish a Technical Working Committee to undertake a comprehensive review of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) after the completion of the current placement exercise.
According to the Ministry, the review will assess the various components of the placement process, identify areas requiring improvement and recommend measures to strengthen the system.
The exercise will also seek to enhance transparency and accountability in the placement process and ensure that the CSSPS remains credible, efficient, fair and responsive to the needs of students, parents and schools.
“The Ministry recognises the need for continuous improvement and strengthening of the system. Following the conclusion of the current placement exercise, the Ministry will establish a Technical Working Committee to undertake a comprehensive review of the placement process,” the Ministry said in a statement dated Tuesday, September 15.
The announcement follows concerns raised by parents and students over challenges encountered during this year’s placement exercise.
The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference has also called for greater transparency and accountability in the administration of the CSSPS.
