The Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, in fulfilment of Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, will present the 2026 budget statement and economic policy to Parliament on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
According to the Constitution, the presentation by the Minister will be on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and shall contain details of the “financial year, estimates of the revenues and expenditure of the Government of Ghana for the following financial year (2026)”.
Next week’s presentation will be Dr Ato Forson’s second following his appointment by President Mahama, who assumed office for his second term in January 2025.
The maiden budget of the John Mahama second term was presented on March 11, 2025, and was themed “Resetting Ghana for the Economy We Want”. It focused on reforms aimed at addressing economic challenges such as public debt, inflation, and expenditure.
However, the 2026 budget statement is expected to focus more on development and infrastructure.
“Through your resilience and sacrifice, we have stabilised the economy. Now, it’s time to grow, to transform, and to build the Ghana We Want!” a notice shared by the Minister on his social media on Thursday, November 6, 2025, stated.
