Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has scheduled a 12-hour shutdown of the Weija Water Treatment Plant on Thursday, December 4, 2025, to enable emergency repairs on a critically damaged transmission pipeline. The company, in a statement issued on Tuesday, said one of the major pipelines that conveys treated water from the Weija Plant to western parts of Greater Accra has developed severe perforations and risks total collapse if urgent repairs are not carried out.
