Bekwai MP distributes streetlights and LED bulbs across constituency
The Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Ralph Poku-Adusei, has distributed 450 streetlights and 2,500 LED bulbs across the constituency under his “Let Bekwai Shine” initiative.
The streetlights were supplied to all 34 electoral areas and schools, while the LED bulbs were distributed to tertiary and second-cycle institutions, hospitals, health centres and other key institutions.
The distribution took place on Sunday, October 18. Mr Poku-Adusei said the initiative was in response to constituents’ calls for more streetlights and LED bulbs to improve visibility and security.
He said the lighting was intended to brighten the constituency and reduce incidents and attacks carried out under the cover of darkness. The MP added that improved safety would help residents and businesses go about their activities and support the local economy.
“Bekwai must shine!” he said, describing the initiative as part of his vision to make the constituency self-sufficient.
