The Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Lydia Donkor, has urged Ghanaians to remain security-conscious as they celebrate the performances of the Black Stars in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a message shared on her official X page, she congratulated the national team for what she described as a display of determination, resilience and national pride, following their recent match.
While encouraging fans to celebrate the victory, she cautioned against disorder and called for heightened vigilance in homes, communities and public spaces.
According to her, citizens should look out for one another, avoid actions that could disturb public peace, and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
“Victory tastes sweeter when a nation believes. Congratulations to our beloved Black Stars on today’s victory.
“Thank you for the determination, resilience, and pride you displayed on the pitch.
“As we celebrate, let us do so responsibly and remain security-conscious in our homes, communities, and public spaces.
“Watch out for one another, avoid disorder, and report any suspicious activity. Celebrate the win. Protect the peace. Ghana first,” she wrote.
Her remarks come amid nationwide excitement as supporters continue to follow the Black Stars’ World Cup campaign.
