Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has criticised the government over the resurgence of “dumsor”, saying the frequent power outages are severely affecting businesses across the country.
Speaking at the 40th anniversary celebration of the Mid-West Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sunyani, Dr Bawumia noted that many Ghanaians had asked him to deliver a strong message to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration regarding the impact of the power crisis.
He said repeated power interruptions are disrupting business operations, creating uncertainty and inflicting heavy financial losses on entrepreneurs.
The former Vice President also touched on the government’s promised 24-hour economy, revealing that many young people are still anxiously waiting for its implementation, hoping it will generate jobs and economic opportunities.
Dr Bawumia further disclosed that farmers have expressed worry over outstanding payments and called on the government to promptly settle all debts owed to them.
