Law enforcement officers have arrested former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company Limited (NAFCO), Mr. Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, at the Accra International Airport.
Mr. Aludiba, who is currently standing trial together with his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, on charges of stealing and causing financial loss to the Republic, was granted leave by the trial High Court to travel to the UK for a few days.
According to a post by the Deputy Attorney-General, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai on Saturday, July 5, 2026, the arrest was occasioned by Mr. Aludiba’s alleged attempt to use false means to empty his frozen bank account with Republic Bank on Thursday.
The Deputy AG indicated that Mr. Aludiba was arrested at the airport following the reported attempt. He revealed that the Attorney-General will move an application on Monday seeking a review of the court order which granted the former NAFCO CEO leave to travel out of the country.
Mr. Aludiba and his wife have been facing prosecution in connection with allegations of financial impropriety during his tenure as CEO of NAFCO, the state agency responsible for managing the country’s strategic food buffer stock.
