The Black Stars of Ghana fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against hosts South Korea in an international friendly match at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The game, part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, saw the Taeguk Warriors secure victory through a solitary second-half goal, extending their strong home form after a recent 2-0 win over Bolivia.
Ghana, coached by Otto Addo, entered the encounter on the back of a 2-0 loss to Japan four days earlier in another friendly and were hampered by the absence of key players, including Mohammed Kudus, Iñaki Williams, Thomas Partey, and Jordan Ayew.
South Korea dominated possession in the opening exchanges, with captain Son Heung-min pulling the strings in midfield.
The first half ended goalless, but South Korea found the breakthrough in the 63rd minute through Lee Kang-in.
The Black Stars had two goals ruled out for offside, while goalkeeper Benjamin Asare produced a vital save to deny South Korea from the penalty spot in the 76th minute.
With their two November friendlies now concluded, the players will return to their respective clubs to continue the club season.
