Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, joined other African leaders in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Africa Summit, a high-level France-Africa partnership meeting focused on sustainable development, economic resilience, and global cooperation.
An official statement issued by the Presidency indicated that the summit, organised by Emmanuel Macron, brought together African heads of state alongside global business leaders and international partners to enhance collaboration on key development priorities across the continent.
However, the statement noted that President John Dramani Mahama, who serves as the African Union Champion for African Financial Institutions, is expected to join a high-level discussion on green industrialisation and energy transition on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the discussion will centre on improving African countries’ access to sustainable financing while ensuring that the global financial system becomes more equitable and responsive to the continent’s development needs.
The statement also revealed that the President is expected to co-chair a roundtable discussion on health under the theme, “Rethinking Global Health and Building Resilient National Health Systems.”
The summit is expected to explore strategies for accelerating Africa’s industrial growth while also addressing the challenges raised by climate change and the global shift toward clean energy.
