Police in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region have arrested a 55-year-old man for allegedly attacking a female family member by stabbing her in both eyes with a pair of scissors during a domestic dispute at Sefwi Abrokofe.

The suspect, William Gyamfi, popularly known as Kwasi Manso, is accused of assaulting the victim, Akua Agyeiwaa, who is in her early 50s, following a misunderstanding between the two.

The brutal incident left Agyeiwaa critically injured, and she was immediately rushed to the Juaboso Government Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Upon receiving a report of the attack, police dispatched a patrol team to the community, where they apprehended Gyamfi. However, before his arrest, some residents assaulted the suspect, leaving him with visible injuries, including a swollen left eye and forehead, as well as bleeding from his left leg.

Gyamfi was also taken to the Juaboso Government Hospital for treatment and was subsequently discharged. He is now in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.

Meanwhile, residents of Sefwi Abrokofe have raised concerns about Gyamfi’s alleged history of violent behavior. Some community members claim he previously attacked his brother-in-law with a cutlass.

Locals are urging the police to conduct a thorough investigation and prosecute the suspect to deter similar acts of violence in the future.
