The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it will hold its National Delegates Conference on Saturday, September 19, 2026, during which delegates are expected to elect the party’s national officers in accordance with Article 10(1) of the party’s constitution.

The decision was taken by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and subsequently approved by the National Council at their respective meetings held on June 25, 2026.

In a statement issued on July 8, 2026, and signed by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party also formally invited members and stakeholders to submit proposals for amendments to its constitution ahead of the conference.

According to the statement, the invitation is being made pursuant to Article 19(2) of the party’s constitution as part of preparations for the National Delegates Conference.

The NPP said all proposed amendments should be submitted to the Office of the General Secretary at the party’s national headquarters or sent electronically via nppconstitutionalamendment@gmail.com.

It noted that the deadline for the submission of all proposals is Friday, July 17, 2026.

The party encouraged members and stakeholders to take advantage of the constitutional review process by proposing reforms that would strengthen its structures, enhance its internal democratic processes and promote effective governance.

It further reaffirmed its commitment to constitutionalism, internal democracy and the rule of law, stating that preparations for the National Delegates Conference would be guided by the provisions of the party’s constitution and its longstanding democratic traditions.

The National Delegates Conference is the NPP’s highest decision-making gathering and brings together delegates from across the country to deliberate on key policy and constitutional matters, as well as elect national executives to steer the affairs of the party.
