The Tobinco Group is set to officially inaugurate its pioneering health institution, the Entrance University of Health Sciences, on July 11, 2025, marking a significant milestone in Ghana’s medical education and healthcare advancement agenda
The university, which is positioned as a transformative institution in medicine represents a bold commitment to bridging the gap between academic knowledge, healthcare research, and practical clinical solutions across Africa.
The inauguration will bring together 32 high-level officials from 13 African countries, including health ministers, policymakers, and key healthcare stakeholders. Their presence underscores the strategic relevance of the university as a center for regional cooperation, education, and medical advancement.
Entrance University of Health Sciences will comprise four main faculties: the School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, School of Dentistry, and School of Nursing. The university will also be home to the Entrance Dental Hospital, a modern facility designed to provide students with hands-on clinical experience while offering quality dental services to surrounding communities.
The academic vision of the institution is rooted in equipping students with the knowledge, practical skills, and ethical grounding needed to thrive in modern healthcare environments. From Ghana to the broader African continent and beyond, Entrance University seeks to raise a generation of healthcare professionals ready to make an impact.
The distinguishing factor of the university is its investment in world-class infrastructure aimed at delivering immersive, practical training. Dental students will benefit from Phantom Heads for pre-clinical procedures, simulating real clinical conditions in a safe environment. The university also boasts fully equipped dental chairs, a modern dental hospital, and a comprehensive range of cutting-edge laboratories, including microbiology, histology, cadaver, physiology, pharmacology, medical simulation, computer, and biochemistry labs. Lecture halls have been designed for interactive, tech-enhanced learning, and a fully equipped mortuary facility will support anatomy and pathology training, reinforcing the school’s focus on holistic, experiential learning.
Entrance University is not just an academic facility but a future-facing institution envisioned as a hub for research, innovation, and regional integration. Through its affiliation with the Tobinco Group, it aims to foster collaborative research that addresses Africa’s most pressing healthcare challenges. The university also plans to support student and faculty exchange programs with institutions across West and Central Africa, offer capacity-building in emerging healthcare technologies, and promote the growth of Ghanaian-made pharmaceutical products throughout the continent.
The launch of Entrance University is well aligned with President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy and Big Push initiative, which emphasize sustainable development, infrastructure investment, and job creation. The inauguration serves as both a symbolic and strategic platform for building new partnerships in medical education and healthcare financing, positioning Ghana as a continental hub for innovation in health training and services.
According to the Tobinco Group, Entrance University is more than a school — it is a movement. Its mission is to train highly skilled, ethical, and compassionate professionals who will not only deliver quality care but also contribute to the transformation of healthcare systems across Africa. The institution is committed to enhancing the healthcare workforce, advancing context-specific medical research, supporting community outreach, and creating employment opportunities that feed into Ghana’s broader economic growth.
As preparations for the inauguration peak, the university extends an open invitation to students, healthcare practitioners, parents, and investors to be part of this landmark journey. Entrance University of Health Sciences is where excellence meets opportunity, a place where the dreams of serving humanity through healthcare are not only nurtured, but realized.
