Two people are reported dead while 28 others have been rescued following a serious road crash at Kwashieman in Accra early on Good Friday.
The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. when a church bus travelling from Takoradi collided with a truck loaded with onions and yams, which was heading to the Gomoa Dominase onion market.
According to reports, the bus was attempting to branch towards Sowutuom when the speeding truck, despite warning horns from other road users, slammed into it.
A National Ambulance Service crew from Ablekuma North responded promptly to the scene, conveying 20 victims to the Weija Gbawe Municipal Hospital and eight others to the Ablekuma North Polyclinic for medical attention.
Residents in the area have commended the ambulance crew for their swift and professional response, which helped save lives in the immediate aftermath of the collision.
