‘You have blood on your hands’ – NPP’s Ofosu Nkansah blames govt officials over father’s death

Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has accused two senior government officials of bearing responsibility for the death of his father, claiming their refusal to grant him time prevented him from making critical decisions to save his life.

In a Facebook post on Monday, March 2, 2026, Mr Ofosu Nkansah directly blamed Dr Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the President, and Beatrice Annangfio, a Presidential Staffer, stating they would “forever have blood on their hands” for denying him the opportunity to be with his father during a critical period.

“Callistus Mahama and Beatrice Annan will forever have blood on their hands, regarding the death of my Dad, for their refusal to give me the time I needed to see my Dad at the most critical time when I could have made some decisions to save him,” he wrote.

“I won’t blame any NIB officer because they only worked on their instructions. I leave you two to your conscience,” he added.

The outburst comes amid Mr Ofosu Nkansah’s ongoing legal troubles with the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB). He was arrested in February 2026 over allegations of publishing false news related to claims of irregularities in the award of government-sponsored foreign scholarships, including accusations that scholarships were being sold for up to GH¢100,000.

Dr Callistus Mahama, in his capacity as Executive Secretary to the President, had reportedly written to the Director-General of the NIB requesting an investigation into the matter, which led to Mr Ofosu Nkansah’s arrest and subsequent bail in the sum of GH¢500,000.

Following his arrest and related restrictions, reports indicated that his father’s sudden passing occurred shortly after, with the former NEIP boss suggesting that his detention or inability to secure permission limited his ability to attend to his ailing father in Kumasi or at the hospital.

Mr Ofosu Nkansah’s father passed away unexpectedly in mid-February 2026, a loss he described in earlier posts as shocking, noting that his father had no known serious illness beyond routine quarterly check-ups and deteriorated rapidly within a week. He has also lamented the circumstances surrounding the death at the KNUST Hospital (Tech), expressing frustration with aspects of the healthcare system.
