Akuapem North Member of Parliament Samuel Awuku has claimed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has identified about 35 alleged scandals involving the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), which it intends to expose gradually ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Speaking on UTV’s Adekye Nsroma programme, Awuku said the number could increase as more issues emerge, adding that the NPP’s planned disclosures would provide Ghanaians with an opportunity to assess the NDC’s performance against its Reset promises.

He cited the controversy surrounding visa arrangements for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, alleging that some NDC regional executives served as intermediaries through whom government appointees collected money from unsuspecting applicants.

Awuku also challenged Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to publish invoices detailing the cost of evacuating Ghanaians from South Africa. He argued that Ablakwa, while in opposition, had demanded similar transparency regarding presidential travel expenses.

The MP further indicated that the NPP was prepared to substantiate its allegations with names and voice recordings, describing the planned disclosures as part of the opposition’s efforts to scrutinise the government ahead of the 2028 elections.
