The Adenta Circuit Court has remanded Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, into police custody for two weeks and ordered a psychiatric evaluation.
This follows his appearance in court on January 2, 2026, where he faced charges related to causing fear and panic through false publications.
Ebo Noah, a self-proclaimed prophet, gained widespread attention after prophesying a world-ending flood on December 25, 2025. He claimed divine revelation instructed him to build an ark to save believers, sharing videos online that went viral.
When the predicted disaster did not occur, he later stated that his prayers and intercession had led God to postpone the event.
He was arrested on December 31, 2025, by the Ghana Police Service’s Special Cyber Vetting Team as part of efforts to curb misinformation causing public alarm.
The court has directed that the psychiatric assessment be conducted at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital, with the case adjourned to mid-January 2026.
