Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, the self-proclaimed prophet who sparked nationwide anxiety with predictions of a Christmas Day apocalyptic flood, has reportedly been arrested by the Ghana Police Service.
According to multiple reports, police sources confirmed that the 30-year-old was detained on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, following widespread public outcry over his failed doomsday prophecy and subsequent actions that authorities say caused unnecessary fear and panic.
Ebo Noah gained notoriety in August 2025 when he claimed divine visions instructing him to construct 10 modern-day arks to rescue humanity from an impending three-year global flood set to begin on December 25, 2025.
Through viral videos on TikTok and YouTube, often appearing in tattered sackcloth, he documented the construction of wooden vessels, claiming to have acquired over 250,000 pieces of timber. He repeatedly declared the arks as the sole sanctuary for believers.
Reports emerged of hundreds of followers, including some from neighbouring countries, abandoning their homes and gathering at his ark site with luggage in anticipation of the prophesied deluge.
When December 25 passed without incident, Ebo Noah released a video asserting that his three-week fast and prayers had convinced God to postpone the catastrophe.
The controversy escalated when he made a surprise appearance on stage at Sarkodie’s ‘Rapperholic 2025’ concert, still clad in sackcloth, encouraging the crowd to celebrate the delay of the apocalypse.
The stunt triggered intense backlash on social media, with Ghanaians accusing him of deceiving the public, inducing mass hysteria, and exploiting vulnerable people.
Many demanded his arrest, arguing that his actions constituted incitement of fear and public disorder.
