The Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled Tuesday, December 30, 2025, as the date for the rerun of the parliamentary election in the Kpandai Constituency in the Northern Region.
The decision comes after the Tamale High Court, on November 24, 2025, ordered the EC to conduct a fresh election in the constituency within 30 days.
The Commission also received official notification from the Clerk to Parliament on Monday, December 8, 2025, declaring the Kpandai parliamentary seat vacant.
According to the EC, the rerun will involve only the three candidates who participated in the December 7, 2024, parliamentary election in the constituency.
In a statement, Mr. Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Department at the Electoral Commission, announced the new date and urged all stakeholders and the public to take note.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a free, fair, and transparent election in strict compliance with the court’s ruling.
