Global Info Analytics has released its final poll ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, projecting a commanding lead for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to the survey, Dr Bawumia is expected to secure 57% of delegate votes, well above the 50% threshold required for an outright victory in a single round.
The poll places the other aspirants as follows:
– Kennedy Ohene Agyapong — 28%
– Dr Bryan Acheampong — 13%
– Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum — 2%
– Kwabena Agyei Agyepong — 0%
Global Info Analytics Executive Director Mussa Dankwah, who shared the results, described the projection as indicating a likely “one-touch” win for Dr Bawumia, meaning the contest could be decided without proceeding to a second round.
He noted that Dr Bryan Acheampong has recorded the most significant recent gain, rising from around 6% in earlier tracking to 13% in the latest survey.
The poll also indicated that Dr Bawumia’s lead has remained stable in recent days, while some movement has occurred among the trailing candidates.
Global Info Analytics has previously been recognised for the accuracy of its election forecasts, including its performance in the 2024 general election.
The NPP presidential primaries will be held across the country on January 31, with delegates from the party’s 276 constituencies expected to participate in the selection of the flagbearer for the 2028 general election.
The party has urged all stakeholders to maintain peace and decorum throughout the process. A peace agreement was signed by the five aspirants in the presence of senior party figures earlier this week.
