High Court reduces GH¢60 million bail imposed on former BOST MD

The Accra High Court has reduced the bail amount imposed on former Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Edwin Provencal, from GH¢60 million to GH¢30 million.

The decision was announced on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, by Edwin Provencal’s lawyer, Charles Okyere, following a successful application to vary the earlier bail conditions set by the court.

Under the revised terms, the former BOST boss is now required to provide two sureties and deposit his passport with the court registry.

Speaking to journalists after the ruling, Lawyer Okyere maintained his client’s innocence, insisting that the allegations of causing financial loss to the state are baseless.

“EOCO is purportedly investigating him for causing financial loss. It’s a very detailed matter. The supposed financial loss itself has not even occurred. There’s no loss at the moment. So, you cannot be investigating somebody or charging somebody for a crime that has not been committed,” Okyere stated.

Edwin Provencal was arrested on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Kotoka International Airport while attempting to board a flight to Maputo, Mozambique. Authorities say he did not obtain the required authorisation before travelling.
