The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seventeen police officers in recognition of their exceptional operational performance and unwavering dedication to duty.

The promotions, announced on January 28, 2026, were conferred on officers who demonstrated outstanding professionalism in separate high-impact operations.

The promoted personnel played pivotal roles in the interception of ten wrapped slabs of substances suspected to be cocaine, with an estimated street value of GHC 1,032,650.00, as well as sacks of substances suspected to be narcotic drugs in Ho, Volta Region.

In another operation, officers recovered an AK-47 rifle, a pump-action shotgun, and eight live AAA ammunition during a routine patrol in Jacobu.

The IGP, in the company of members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), personally congratulated the officers on their well-deserved elevation and praised them for exemplifying the core values of the Ghana Police Service through discipline, courage, and professionalism.

Mr Yohuno described the promotions as a recognition of excellence and urged the newly elevated officers to see their new ranks as a call to even greater responsibility.

He further encouraged all personnel across the Service to maintain high standards of performance, assuring them that integrity, diligence, and commitment to duty will continue to form the foundation for recognition and advancement within the Ghana Police Service.
