Kpandai rerun: Mussa Dankwa’s Global Info Analytics tips NPP’s Nyindam with 50% in fresh polls

A latest opinion poll by Global InfoAnalytics, headed by Executive Director Mussa Dankwa, has tipped New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Matthew Nyindam to a narrow lead ahead of the Kpandai parliamentary rerun.

The survey, released on December 14, 2025, shows Mr Nyindam polling 50 percent, four points ahead of National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Daniel Nsala Wakpal on 46 percent. One percent indicated support for Donkor Eric Nipani, with three percent of respondents remaining undecided.

Global InfoAnalytics described the contest as a statistical dead heat, noting that Mr Nyindam’s lead falls within the poll’s ±3.9 percent margin of error.
The poll revealed limited cross-movement between the two main candidates, with 2% of previous Nyindam supporters switching to Mr Wakpal and a similar proportion moving in the opposite direction. However, a significant 28 percent of voters who previously backed Donkor Eric Nipani have shifted to Mr Nyindam, providing the NPP candidate with a key advantage.

Voter assessments of Mr Nyindam’s brief parliamentary performance were divided: three per cent rated it “excellent,” 32 percent “very good or good,” 36 percent “average,” and 29 percent “poor or very poor.”The survey also highlighted strong national sentiment in the constituency, with 66 percent of voters believing Ghana is on the right track, against 26 percent who disagree. President John Dramani Mahama enjoys a 64 percent approval rating among respondents.

On personal finances since President Mahama took office, 54 percent reported improvements, 34 per cent no change, and 11 percent a worsening situation.
Jobs topped the list of voter concerns at 34 percent, followed by the economy (18 percent) and roads (15 percent).
Conducted via face-to-face interviews with 1,035 voters from December 11 to 13, 2025, the poll has a 99 percent confidence level. Global InfoAnalytics plans a final survey closer to the election date.
The rerun follows a Tamale High Court ruling ordering the Electoral Commission (EC) to organise a fresh poll in the constituency. The EC has scheduled the election for Tuesday, December 30, 2025, amid protests from the Minority.
