A joint team comprising National Security officers and Police personnel has stormed the residence of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
According to media reports, the combined security team is acting on a search warrant issued on May 21, 2025, to search Chairman Wontumi’s residence in accordance with Section 40(1)(2) of the Criminal Procedure Act.
However, the team was unable to enter the premises as the house was locked upon their arrival. Currently, party faithfuls are turning up at the residence following the incidence.
The reason for the operation has not yet been disclosed, and the current whereabouts of Chairman Wontumi remain unknown.
