Ghanaians will pay a reduced passport application fee of GH¢350 starting Thursday, November 13, 2025, down from the previous GH¢500, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced.
The fee reduction is part of efforts by the government to alleviate financial pressures on citizens and enhance access to critical public services.
It also honours the government’s prior commitment to review and lower the cost of passport processing to make travel documents more affordable.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa explained that the adjustment seeks to motivate more Ghanaians to acquire passports through legitimate channels, thereby reducing reliance on middlemen and unauthorised agents.
”New Passport Application Fee of GH¢350 (a 30% reduction) comes into effect this Thursday, November 13, 2025. For God and Country,” he wrote.
According to the government, the new GH¢350 fee will apply uniformly to all standard passport applications at Passport Application Centres (PACs) across the country.
